Alkım Özmen stepped into the world of cinema through feature films and television productions. The short films he directed were screened and awarded at film festivals in Germany, France, Spain, the United States, and many other countries. He also expanded his storytelling expertise into documentary and commercial filmmaking.

Throughout his career, Alkım has directed commercials for both local and global brands, successfully adapting his cinematic perspective to the advertising world. Additionally, he worked as an assistant director on over 100 TV series episodes and 14 feature films, including Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, which won the Grand Prix at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.

A Berlinale Talents alumnus, Alkım Özmen has participated in international screenplay development programs such as Meditalents and Sources2. He has also taught cinema and television courses at various universities in Istanbul. His first feature film project, Benim Mutlu Ailem, received support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s General Directorate of Cinema and is scheduled to be filmed by the end of 2025.

Now, he continues to bring his creative vision and storytelling mastery to life under the Hi İstanbul Film umbrella.
